HIStory of Michael Jackson
Name: Michael Joseph Jackson.
Date of birth: 29th of August 1958.
Place of birth: Gary Indiana.
State: Single. Michael was first married to Lisa Marie Presley and later to Debbie Rowe who gave Michael two children. A son Prince Michael Jackson jr. (born the 13th of February, 1997) and a daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson (born on the 3rd of April 1998).
Home: Neverland, Los Olivos.
Father: Joseph Walter Jackson.
Mother: Katherine Scruse.
Brothers: Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon and Randy Jackson.
Sisters: Rebbie, Janet and La-Toya Jackson.
First performance: Michael's very first performance was 'Climb every mountain' in his kindergarten class, 1963.
The Jackson Five: The Jackson five was formed in 1964 and had their first performance at Mr. Lucky's in Gary Indiana. Original in the Jackson five were: Jermaine, Jackie, Tito, Marlon and Michael. In the beginning the Jackson Five was acompanied by one of their cousins Johny.
First single: The Jackson five first single was Big Boy who was recorded at Steeltown in 1968.
Motown: In 1968 Bobby Tayler & The Vancouvers discover the Jackson five at the Regal Theater in Chicago. In 1969 The Jackson five does an audition for Berry Gordy at Motown and signs a contract with them. The first single they record at Motown is I want you back. Also in 1969 the Jacksons move from Gary Indiana to Havenhurst in California. The first album the Jackson five record is Diana Ross presents the Jackson five, better known as ABC. This album is also the first gold record of the J-5.
First solo album: The first solo album of Michael is "Got to be there" in 1972.
Jacksons: In 1976 The 'Jackson five' signs up with Epic and change their name into: 'The Jacksons'. Jermaine stays at Motown and Randy takes his place at the Jacksons.
Movies: The Wiz 1977 was the first movie Michael acted as a scarecrow. Diana Ross was also in this movie. In 1982 Michael narrated a special album edition of the Steven Spielberg ET movie that includes a special song "Someone in the dark". After that 1986 Michael did a special 3-D movie for Disney called Captain EO. Moonwalker came out in 1988 and in 1996 he made the short film GHOSTS.
Tours: During the Jackson five period there were many small tours. The biggest tours were the Victory tour (with the Jacksons) 1984, BAD tour 87/88, Dangerous tour 92/93 and the HIStory world tour 96/97.
Awards: Michael has been rewarded with Awards almost all his life. The first Award the Jackson five receives is NAACP image award for best group of the year 1970. Later Michael receives many more Awards such as the famous: Grammy award's, Billboard Awards, American music Awards, MTV Awards, Guinness book of records Awards (Thriller: best selling album of all times), Soultrain Awards, Legendary King of Pop Award, etc., etc. In 2000 Michael receives the artist of the Millenium Award at the World Music awards in Monte Carlo.
Charity: Michael has been supporting charity all his life. Best known charities are: The Ronald Mc Donald children foundation, The make a wish foundation, Childright, etc., etc. In 1984 Michael opens his own burning center after he suffers severe burns to his scalp during a commercial shoot for Pepsi. In 1985 Michael writes the song "We are the World" to help the hungry people in Africa. In 1992 Michael starts with the "Heal the World foundation". A foundation that helps the needy children of the world. "The Guinness Book of World Records 2000 Millennium Edition" includes the following entry: Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star Michael Jackson has supported 39 charitable organizations either with monetary donations through sponsorships of their projects or by participating in their silent auctions. The charities involved include AIDS Project L.A., American Cancer Society, BMI Foundation, Inc., Childhelp USA, United Negro College Fund (UNCF), YMCA - 28th Street/Crenshaw, The Sickle Cell Research Foundation and Volunteers of America
